Nokia MD4 Speakers Review

The other day we had some Nokia MD4 Speakers in the office, so I thought I would take the opportunity to put them to the test, just to see how good they are. Here’s what I found:

Free Nokia MD4 Speakers

The Nokia MD4 speakers produce great sound, given the size of the speakers. Small and compact, these foldable speakers are thin, slim, and very pocketable.

The MD4 look good and sound great. The MD4 speakers have a V-shaped design, and can stand in that position, or lay flat. They are compatible with virtually every Nokia phone that has either a pop port connector, 2.5mm or 3.5mm connector. The speakers themselves come with a 3.5mm jack, plus a pop port connector (the AD-15, as supplied with the Nokia N73) and a 2.5mm to 3.5mm convertor, for use with phones such as the Nokia 6300.

Not only do the speakers work with Nokia handsets, but will play music from any device that has a compatible connector. This means iPod. You can connect the speakers to your iPod and straight away you can play your music loud and share with your friends.

Not only iPod though. All Sony Ericsson Walkman phones, for example, are supplied with a headset that allows you to use your own favourite headphones. Using the same connector/adaptor you can connect the Nokia MD4 speakers to your phone for instant mobile stereo.

The MD4 speakers are equipped with a built in stereo amplifier for improved sound quality and also has an internal radio antenna, so you can use the speakers with a compatible handset that has a built in FM radio. The speakers run on 4 x AAA batteries, which give up to 30 hours of music playback.

Testing the speakers in the office we found the sound quality to be very good all round. We played a variety of music, from Opera, Classic and pop to some loud rock, and the sound quality was equally good across all genres.

Overall I found the MD4 speakers to be an excellent piece of kit, very useful, and portable into the bargain. I was that impressed, I promptly went and purchased a set of speakers for use with my N95 8GB and my iPod Classic.
